Iron Man 2 poster revealed! [Poster Art]

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Comics have released the first teaser poster for Iron Man 2 in an exclusive first look on Yahoo! Movies.

According to Marvel Comics, Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark, aka the super hero Iron Man in this sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. He is joined by Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and Don Cheadle as Col. James Rhodes, aka War Machine. Jon Favreau once again takes up the directorial reins for Marvel’s armored avenger.

Iron Man 2 is one of a continuing slate of films being produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel characters, including Thor on May 20, 2011, The First Avenger: Captain America on July 22, 2011 and The Avengers on May 4, 2012.

The film is slated to hit theaters in the United States on May 7, 2010. Its predecessor stormed the box office to earn an impressive $98 million during its opening weekend before netting over $585 million worldwide. The release date will come six days after the 2010 Free Comic Book Day promotion, which traditionally leverages the buzz around summer superhero films to draw new readers into comic book stores across North America.
