Chris Hemsworth stands tall as Thor in this first teaser movie poster from the upcoming film. Decked out in his Asgardian armor and looking quite imposing, there’s no question that Thor will bring the thunder this summer. Only one question: Where’s his helmet?

Thor just isn’t Thor without his helmet.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the epic adventure Thor spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard.  At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war.  Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment.  Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor comes to theaters May 6, 2011.

In addition, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including Captain America: The First Avenger on July 22, 2011; Marvel Studios’ The Avengers on May 4, 2012; and Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013.
