Street Cred

The FilmGuru is getting noticed. This weekend, the Kansas City Film Critics Circle voted in your favorite film reviewer as a new member. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my acceptance to the KCFCC was due in part to my appearances on KTWU's The Aisle Seat, where my reviews of independent films are featured.

This is great news because 1) it validates years of movie reviews when other people thought I was goofing off, and 2) it gives me a network of professional colleagues with whom to discuss films, reviews, and movie-related minutia.

Who knows? Maybe this will lead to even more movie previews (always a good thing) or even a steady-paying gig writing reviews for a major metropolitan newspaper (Clark Kent is a hero of mine). Stay tuned for more news and reviews, and I'll see you at the movies.
