Follow the formative years of the X-Men and the relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, a.k.a. Magneto. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, X-Men: First Class stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and January Jones.
Here’s the official synopsis:
X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
X-Men: First Class will be distributed by 20th Century Fox and comes to U.S. theaters June 3rd.

Cowboys and Aliens
I’ll admit, when I heard the title Cowboys and Aliens I imagined a cheesy film that was more like a Men in Black-style comedy. After all, it doesn’t sound like something that could take itself too seriously.
But you’ll think otherwise when you see the trailer, which was released today on Yahoo Movies.
Check out the Cowboys & Aliens trailer for all the Old West meets E.T. goodness.
Here’s how DreamWorks Studios describes the film:
Blockbuster filmmaker Jon Favreau directs Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde in an event film for summer 2011 that crosses the classic Western with the alien-invasion movie in a blazingly original way: Cowboys & Aliens. Joined by an arsenal of top moviemakers-Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci-he brings an all-new action thriller that will take audiences into the Old West, where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world.
The script by Star Trek’s Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof (television’s Lost) is based on Platinum Studios’ graphic novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.
So, what do you think? Is this a film worth seeing in the summer of 2011. We know it’s going to be a busy summer, but we’re already planning to see this one on opening night.
